The Wolfe Park Neighborhood sits on the very most southwestern side of Manchester. Wolfe Park is bordered by Queen City Avenue to the northeast, the Merrimack River to the east, and the Bedford town line to the south and west.
Located within Wolfe Park is Saint Joseph Cemetery which recorded its first burial of Bartholomeu Quinn, who died July 2, 1848. Father William McDonald, Manchester’s first permanently assigned Catholic priest, had not yet been here long when Mr. Quinn’s death made the establishment of a Catholic cemetery a necessity. Wolfe Park developed as a streetcar suburb due to the prewar streetcar line that ran through this area. Today, this largely suburban neighborhood is home to a variety of restaurants, shops, and parks.
